Our clothes pegs make great croquet clips at a fraction of the cost of a specialised set. They have been tested by the Canterbury, Kent club and found to be ideal – they usually stay on the hoop even when the hoop is hit hard by a fast ball*, and will clip onto your clothing as you move around the lawn. They fit over both regulation 16 mm diameter hoops [where they hardly ever jump off] and those with oversized crowns of up to about 20mm diameter, and are guaranteed for life.

* The risk of jumping off increases with the diameter of the hoop, but only when hit really hard, so it’s not perceived to be a frequent problem. The risk increases exponentially when the clip is put on squint, so placing it perpendicular to the hoop is of paramount importance.
We have put together special sets of 6 black, 6 red, 6 yellow and 6 blue clips especially for the golf croquet market. The cost is £18.55 for a set of 24, which includes p&p.
Secondary colour sets using white, pink, brown and green are also available.
Clips may also be bought in sets of one each of all eight colours for those who play Association Croquet.
We suggest that those clubs whose members play bothAssociation and Golf Croquet buy both Association and Golf sets so the clips forthe two games may be kept separately and thus avoid confusion.

Exquisite Scotland Clip on 5/8″ hoop upright
Nigel Partridge writes: Recenly I bought some clips from Exquisite Scotland having read abut them on your website.
I have found them to be excellent – they are certainly inexpensive – but had to adjust them to suit the 3/4″ hoop tops as otherwise they had a habit of springing off. To do this I increased the gap at the point where the clip grips the hoop but having done so had to pinch the tips to enable them to be carried on clothing during play. Otherwise I would recommend them to anyone who does not want to pay the inflated prices for other brands. November 2012.
